Today Solema is a leading company in industrial automation, offering innovative machines for the graphic arts and cardboard converting sectors.

INTERVIEW WITH SOLEMA

Please introduce yourself and Solema briefly.

I am Camilla Pozzoni, from the Sales office, and I am the Regional Sales Manager at Solema for the Asian market.

Solema is a company with a 40-year history, born by the need of our customers to get in touch with specialist suppliers, able to realize conveyor systems used in the graphic industry. Nowadays,  Solema is the leading company in industrial automation that proposes innovative machines in graphic art and paperboard converting.

We were grateful for the opportunity to visit Solema. Does the company have a specific goal for future business?

Solema’s vision is to let people grow through automation. We will supply technological solutions aimed at automating thoroughly the productive cycle in the division of binding and paperboard converting. In this way we provide solutions to reduce operators’ repetitive and time-wasting tasks, giving them the opportunity to work differently, for example in the programming and controlling positions.

What does the working environment look like at Solema?

Solema is a dynamic working environment. This is possible because we internally handle the entire productive cycle – starting from the designing and study of the product, and continuing with the production of pieces, assembling of the final product, software and electrical designing and after sales services.

In addition, Solema environment is young. In fact, last year we made a survey, and the result was that Solema has an average age of 40 years. This factor helps keeping a dynamic environment.

Many PMT students are interested in Solema. Why should PMT students not miss the opportunity to join this company?

Working as an intern in Solema will give you the opportunity to put yourself in the game experiencing all the different steps within our company internal processes. In fact, here you will have a panoramic view of how it is handled the business flow.

We are wondering if Solema regularly seeks new international interns.

We have been collaborating with different Italian schools from which we include in our team from 2-5 students every year in all our departments. Being able to get in contact with PMT will give us the chance to add to our team students from all over the world.

What attractive benefits does Solema offer to interns? What can students learn at Solema?

As mentioned before, working as an intern in Solema will give you the opportunity to put yourself in the game. In fact, here you will have a glimpse of how the company works and handles the whole production cycles.

Lastly, do you have anything else to say to PMT students?

The graphic art industry changes quickly from a productive point of view. In this sector young students can give their contributions developing new ideas such as in the digital post-press division. For this reason, we believe it can give students great job opportunities.
