Interview With Abdullah Azeem

My name is Abdullah Azeem, and I am currently in my 8th semester of Print Media Technologies at Hochschule der Medien (HdM). I’m from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. Moving to Germany was a big change, and it took a little while to get used to, but everything has worked out well, and I’ve adapted over time.

What drew my attention to this course was the unique combination of technical and creative skills it offers. I was looking for a program that would blend theoretical knowledge with practical applications, and PMT seemed like the perfect fit. I was particularly intrigued by the opportunity to learn about advanced printing technologies and packaging processes while also gaining insights into the business and management aspects of the industry. The prospect of working with cutting-edge machinery and exploring different printing techniques like offset, gravure, and 3D printing made this program stand out to me.

One of the aspects I enjoy most about this program is its international nature. Being in an environment with students from so many different cultures has been an amazing experience. It allows me to understand diverse perspectives and approaches, which I believe will be really valuable in my future career. The global exposure is one of the key strengths of the PMT course, and it adds so much to the overall learning experience.

Additionally, the excursions to various companies in the printing and packaging industry have been incredibly valuable. These trips allowed us to see the real-world applications of what we’re learning in the classroom. Visiting leading companies and experiencing their operations firsthand provided valuable insight into industry trends, cutting-edge technologies, and the challenges businesses face in this field. These experiences have further solidified my understanding of the industry and helped me connect theoretical knowledge with practical, on-the-ground applications.

As I approach the end of my studies, I’m looking forward to seeing how the knowledge and skills I’ve gained will shape my future in the print media industry.
