Interview With Luisa Lilia Mykhailenko

Hi! My name is Lilia, and I’m from Ukraine. I’m in my third semester of Print Media and Packaging Technologies (PMT) at Hochschule der Medien (HdM) in Stuttgart. I’ve always been drawn to fields that combine practical skills with creativity, so this program felt like the perfect fit. As an artist with a passion for digital graphics, I wanted to stay connected to the design world while also learning about the technical side of things.

PMT has been a great choice because it blends both worlds seamlessly. I’ve gained so much insight into what goes on behind the scenes when preparing products for printing, which has given me a new appreciation for the industry. At the same time, I’ve learned about the technical and engineering aspects of packaging, which are super interesting and challenging in their own way.

One of the things I love most about this program is its size. There are only about 20 people in my year, which makes everything feel more personal and close-knit. It’s easy to connect with professors and university staff, and that one-on-one interaction makes the learning process feel more meaningful. You can always ask questions, share ideas, and really engage with what you’re learning.

HdM itself is such a great place to study. The atmosphere is vibrant and creative, and there are so many opportunities to work on hands-on projects and collaborate with others. The modern facilities and supportive environment make it a place where you can really grow, both academically and personally.

Overall, I’m so glad I chose this program and university. HdM is more than just a school—it’s a community where I feel inspired and excited to keep learning and exploring my passions.
