INTERVIEW WITH AMANDA JUNEAU

My name is Amanda Juneau, and I am a Canadian citizen from Quebec. My journey into the world of Print Media Technologies began after completing a degree in Business Management Marketing in Montreal. I moved to Germany in 2019 for an 8-month internship at Keysight Technologies working in Marketing Communications. Working as an intern abroad gave me a new perspective in life and a strong appreciation for another culture and language. As my internship was coming to an end, I found myself captivated by the intersection of technology and media, motivating my decision to remain in Germany and pursue a Bachelor of Engineering in Print Media Technologies.

As I aim for a career in business, I believe a strong foundation in print media is crucial in our technology-driven world. While social networking and online marketing dominate communication with consumers, businesses must also distinguish themselves through captivating print media to gain a competitive edge. Investing in print media allows businesses to reach more customers, increase visibility in the market, and connect with target audiences effectively.

I was eager to expand my knowledge of the print media industry while developing my creative, analytical, and critical-thinking skills. This program presented itself as the perfect opportunity to gain a thorough education in Print Media Technologies, thereby strengthening my readiness for the competitive international job market. Building upon my foundational knowledge in management and marketing, I aimed to deepen my understanding of media engineering and production. I highly value the international learning experience offered by PMT, recognizing the importance of intercultural competency in today’s globalized market.

Throughout my studies, I’ve gained valuable working experience in various companies. Initially, I spent two years at GMG Color in the marketing department. Following that, I worked in the User Experience department at Bosch as a Communication and Media Design intern. Presently, I am working for Mercedes-Benz’s IT-Engineering department, supporting their communications initiatives. As I approach graduation, I am excited to discover what the future holds and where my career path will lead me.
